Faith & Mission

Our Faith

We believe in God, the Father almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth,

and in Jesus Christ,

his only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by

the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died and was buried;

he descended into hell;

on the third day he rose again from the dead;

he ascended into heaven,

and is seated at the right hand

of God the Father almighty;

from there he will come to judge

the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic Church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and life everlasting.

Amen.

Our Mission

Announce the Good News in season and out of season to all in Carlstadt and East Rutherford.

Form Christian communities who will give signs of faith to those who no longer believe.

 Our Vision

To announce the love of God in and from this parish, especially to those who may no longer believe, which are the majority today, and form men and women with adult faith to respond to the challenges of our time and place.

 Our Strategy

To evangelize the men and women, and families who live in this area by creating a challenging weekend message in the preaching, music and hospitality that is formed in this parish.  Equally important is the weekend programs for kids and students that sows the seed of faith in them.  We aim to visit all the homes and apartments in the parish territory and to have public missions to reach the unchurched.  One in five Catholics are currently connected to the Catholic Church in the area.  We intend to reach out to them through visits and the power of the Word of God, and through the families of those currently in the parish.

New people are encouraged to return.  Regular weekend attendees are invited to take the next step and become a member.  Members are asked to serve in a ministry, attend a catechesis or class, spend daily quiet time with the Lord, worship with their tithe or offering, and bring God into all aspects of their life.
