SACRAMENTS Baptism: For infants and children under the age of 8 please call the Parish Office. (201-939-0457)
Parents and Godparents are required to attend two meeting prior to the celebration. These meetings will normally be on Thursdays at 7PM. Celebrations take place on the 4th Sunday of the month at 1:30 PM. For children over the age of seven please contact the Faith Formation Office, these children participate in the RCIA process adapted to their age level.

*In order to begin preparation in the 2nd grade for the sacraments of First Penance and First Communion children must have completed a 1st grade Faith Formation program*Reconciliation - First Penance: Children need 2 years of preparation for this sacrament, normally starting in the first grade. The parents are required to attend Sunday Mass regularly and special meetings prior to First Penance. Along with the parish preparation classes parents are given information packets to help prepare their children at home. The penance celebration usually takes place on a Saturday morning in the spring. The children will also participate in “Jesus Day”, a wonderful half day to further assist them in preparing for First Penance.
*Eucharist - First Communion: Children need 2 years of preparation for this sacrament, normally starting in the first grade. The parents are required to attend Sunday Mass regularly and special meetings prior to First Eucharist. The first communion celebrations take place in May. Parents are given the opportunity to choose their date and time from the mass selections given. These dates are sent out in the fall.
Confirmation: Young students who have completed
6th, 7th and 8th grades in Faith Formation and who attend Sunday Mass regularly are invited to begin preparation for this sacrament. Parents and candidates must attend a meeting prior to registering for the Immediate Preparation Program. Information packets are given out at this time. Confirmation usually takes place in November, the date to be determined by the schedule of the Bishop. The preparation will consist of classes, service hours, retreats and regular massattendance. It is 2 years of preparations for this sacrament starting from the 7th grade.

Anointing of the Sick: This Sacrament is for those who are seriously sick or elderly. Please do not wait until a person is incapacitated to request the Sacrament. Once a year we celebrate a Mass of the Anointing of the Sick in the church.

Matrimony: Couples normally ought to give the parish one year’s notice of their intention to marry. Please contact the parish office to make arrangements to meet with one of the priests to discuss your plans and the preparation necessary for the Sacrament of Marriage.

Initiation of
Adults is a process by which adults (18 and older) prepare for the Sacraments of Initiation in the Catholic faith. It is primarily a journey of faith by which a person is initiated over time in the Catholic Church. A baptized catholic adult may also prepare for the sacraments of Eucharist and/or Confirmation.
